About Estepona – the best city to visit with a mobility scooter

Estepona, on the famous Costa del Sol, retains the charm of a typically Andalusian town, with quiet squares adorned with flowerpots and little white houses. At the same time, it is a tourist destination with modern facilities, golf courses and sports and recreational areas and a very easy city to visit with your mobility scooter or electric wheelchair.

In its 21 kilometers of coastline it has several beaches distinguished with the European Blue Flag. The areas of the Paseo Marítimo and the Puerto Deportivo (which hosts a market of typical products and handicrafts on Sundays) stand out. Right in the center is La Rada beach, perfect for a dip.
Its beautiful old town is a typical Andalusian image with its renovated streets with white-fronted houses loaded with flower pots. The city offers different artistic routes such as the Mural Route, with more than 40 works of art, the Sculpture Route, with more than 30 pieces by different artists, and the Poetry Route, with works in several languages. As for its monuments, the Clock Tower, the Church of Los Remedios, from the 18th century, and what was the Castle of San Luis stand out. Also worth a visit are the Megalithic Necropolis of Corominas, the original bullring, the Plaza de las Flores, the Casa del Aljibe (with the Archaeological Museum) and the Botanical and Orchid Park.
Gastronomy
In its numerous restaurants, Estepona ranges from the most traditional cuisine, typically Mediterranean, to the most innovative and international. The most recommended are dishes such as fish in salt, fried fish from Malaga or sardines in espeto.
Nature, sport and surroundings
Lovers of green spaces will enjoy an excursion through the Sierra Bermeja Natural Park to contemplate from the Pico de los Reales (1,449 meters) the westernmost area of the Costa del Sol, the Rock of Gibraltar and the north of the African continent.
Estepona also has several golf courses, the Costa del Sol School of Equestrian Art and the Selwo Aventura Park, where more than 2,000 animals live in semi-freedom.
And, to make an excursion, a few kilometers away is Manilva, which in its coastal area has seven kilometers of beach and, very close, Casares, a Historic-Artistic Complex presided over by the Church of the Encarnación and the Torre de la Sal. Following the coastline is Marbella, one of the most important tourist centers on the Costa del Sol, and Fuengirola, a city with a deep Andalusian flavor that offers magnificent beaches.
